As a wedding planner in Italy, I know that some cities are simply made for celebrating love. And then there is Venice, a city that seems suspended in time, where history, art, and elegance reflect in every canal and palazzo.
This year, we are incredibly lucky to be planning a wedding in Venice for the upcoming season.A month ago, we made a technical visit to explore venues, meet local vendors, and walk through the city from one end to the other. It was an amazing experience: discovering hidden corners, feeling the magic of every canal, and visiting some of the most exclusive wedding venues in Venice.

Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista — Venetian History and Elegance
Among the most iconic wedding venues in Venice, the Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista stands out for its centuries-old history and stunning architecture.
Founded in 1261, the building has been a place for solemn ceremonies and cultural events for centuries. Its interiors, adorned with marble and frescoes, create a majestic and elegant atmosphere.
It is an ideal venue for a luxury wedding in Venice, where art and history become the perfect backdrop for your celebration.
Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal — Glamour on the Grand Canal
The Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal, located in the historic Palazzo Dandolo, is an icon of Venetian elegance. In the 17th century, it was the famous Ridotto, where Venice’s high society celebrated Carnival with parties, gambling, and entertainment.Today, its grand indoor hall preserves this grandeur: high ceilings, columns, and windows opening onto the Grand Canal.
It’s a perfect choice for an elegant indoor wedding in Venice, blending historical charm with Italian luxury.
San Clemente Palace Kempinski — A Private Island for Exclusive Weddings
If you are dreaming of an exclusive wedding venue in Italy, the San Clemente Palace Kempinski is truly unparalleled.Located on a private island in the Venetian lagoon, this five-star hotel combines tranquility, history, and elegance. Formerly a Romanesque church, today it offers Renaissance-inspired interiors, centuries-old gardens, and Mediterranean courtyards perfect for outdoor celebrations.
One of its most special spaces is the former church library, ideal for an intimate candlelit dinner. You can also host a reception or banquet in the historic San Clemente Church, dating back to 1131, creating a magical and deeply romantic atmosphere.
A dream setting for a luxury destination wedding in Venice with stunning lagoon views.

Aman Venice — Art, History, and Exclusivity on the Grand Canal
Located in the iconic Palazzo Papadopoli, Aman Venice is synonymous with refined luxury and discretion. This 16th-century palace is filled with museum-quality treasures: frescoes by Tiepolo, Venetian marble, and Murano glass lamps. In the 19th century, the Papadopoli family added two private gardens —a rare green oasis in Venice— providing an intimate setting for a ceremony or cocktail.
After its 2013 renovation, Aman Venice won a national award for heritage conservation. It’s the perfect venue for an exclusive wedding in Venice, where every corner exudes history and beauty.
Ca’ Sagredo — Marrying in a National Monument Palace
The Ca’ Sagredo Hotel, declared a National Monument of Italy, stands majestically along the Grand Canal, between Ca’ D’Oro and the Rialto Bridge.
Its ballrooms house works by Venetian masters of the 17th and 18th centuries, including Sebastiano Ricci, Giambattista Tiepolo, Nicolò Bambini, and Pietro Longhi.
With only 42 rooms and suites, many overlooking the Grand Canal or the historic Rialto market, it’s the perfect setting for a luxury wedding in Italy that blends art, history, and sophistication.
